SAN DIEGO, CALIF., June 24, 2020 – IU Racial Equality Statement.
By now you have all seen and heard messages from many companies voicing their support of equal rights and condemning racism and the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, Philando Castile, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and so many others in the Black Community.
All of us at the IU Group of Companies want to make sure that we address the issue and express our position during this pivotal point in our history.
We would like to publicly condemn racism, the abuse of power and the disregard of life that we have silently witnessed in horror for far too long. This is and has always been unacceptable behavior and those responsible should always be held accountable for their actions.
We are happy to see so much solidarity to affect real change and we want to be a part of more productive lines of communication, education and action taking place during these difficult times.
Our team also wants to express that our feelings on the subject do not start or end with a single written message to the public. Our company and team have always embraced and encouraged diversity, doing good and giving back to the community; it is a part of our company culture.
We support standing up for racial equality and have had team members take part in peaceful protests as well as advocate through social media to show their support of the cause.
We support and have the highest respect for the Black Community and so these acts of racism and injustice towards the Black Community always hit us hard. We want to take more action as a company to help our fellow Americans.
We are committed to seeking out, supporting and working with more Black owned businesses and vendors across the country. We look forward to contracting with more interpreters from the Black Community, African languages as well as Black Spanish interpreters, Black Chinese interpreters, etc.
Our promise to you is that we will always stay on this path and do our part to show support and make a difference with the Black Community.
We are very clear that all lives cannot matter until Black lives do.
