Next Generation Patient Experience Conference (NGPX) 2019. San Diego, CA

The healthcare industry is in a transformative stage, with patient expectations increasing and a shift from profit-driven business models to ones based more on patient satisfaction. NGPX is an annual conference which took place in in San Diego, California in 2019. It is attended by Patient Experience (PX) experts, medical and other industry professionals from across the US. Foreign language interpreters, American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and document translators are a big part of the patient experience across the US, so IU wanted to be present for an event like this in our headquarter city. The conference tackles important issues such as meeting the expectations of empowered patients and integrating PX into all aspects of healthcare business. A highlight of this year’s conference was a keynote speech by John Hopkins Health System’s Chief of Staff Lisa Filbert, addressing the importance of High Reliability Principles and Lean Daily Management in improving patient experience.
