Massachusetts Operational Services Division Selects IU Group to Supply Translation Services

SAN DIEGO, CALIF., June 28, 2016– IU Group, a national language services and transportation company announced today that it was awarded a contract with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Operational Services Division to provide a comprehensive suite of language translation services. The contract, “PRF63 Foreign Language Interpretation and Translation Services Statewide Contract” is to replace the previous Statewide Contract PRF48, which expires at the end of this month. PRF63 is to go into effect July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019 with an option to renew.

IU Group was selected for the contract from multiple bidders to provide exclusive document translation and transcription services in 200+ languages, which includes all written translations. (This involves converting the text word-for-word while maintaining style, tone, and syntax, as well as the cultural authenticity and dialect of the source language).

In addition to PRF63, the company holds a contract with the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing for American Sign Language (ASL) services. “We are excited to grow and expand our service offering to government agencies,” says Shamus Sayed, vice president of Interpreters Unlimited. “We’re looking forward to working with the Commonwealth in this new venture and anticipate a long-term relationship.”
